Okay, so I owe my marriage to the lovely Adirondacks.  Stephen and I swam in similar circles for several years, even dated somewhat catastrophically at an earlier point in time.

But then we ran into each other at the Algonquin Restaurant in Bolton Landing.

The Algonquin, or “the A”, is the place to be on Lake George.  Boating in is the preferable arrival format, but if you can only drive there, it is still worth it.  The dock boy jobs are highly coveted.  Boats go in and out, families and friends pile off and on boats, and the main bar and dining room overlook the comings and goings on the docks.

After floating in Log Bay or Sandy Bay for the day, it is mandatory to stop at The A.  Their Margaritas are top notch, and there is a great beer selection.  The menu will leave you pleasantly full.

It is all about people watching at The A, and who is arriving on what boat.  Sun burned faces, lots of smiles, laughter among friends.

And that is where Stephen and I reconnected, and here we are 19 years later, thanks to The A.  He arrived on his boat, and I drove in.  I arrived on his boat the next time.

I cannot guarantee you will meet your life partner there, but I expect you will have a great time.
