Sundays are delicious! Posted August 24, 2013

Sunday NIGHTS, that is.

Sunday nights in the Adirondacks are decadent and entirely self-indulgent.

Staying north on a Sunday night means you are not part of that mass of humanity heading south on the Northway.

Staying north on a Sunday night means you can walk into a restaurant without a reservation and be seated quickly.

Staying north on a Sunday night means you are NOT going to the office Monday morning.

When the Adirondacks empty out on a Sunday night, the physical beauty reemerges, almost like the loons on our lake as boat traffic drops off: the crisp lines of the mountains, contrasting with the still waters of the lakes.  This is when the real water skiers come out, even barefoot on Loon Lake.  Later, the silence and the stars are astonishing, best viewed while sitting by a fire pit.

Does it get any better than this?
