And just like that it was fall!

The colors POPPED this weekend!

Accompanying nature’s explosion of life was an explosion (or twelve thousand) of laughter.  We had a Girls’ Weekend up north, high school buddies that share a redneck common past.  It’s amazing how shared history helps you understand people better.  We giggled often, ate quite a bit, imbibed some, and even got a little exercise.

I convinced the girls that my 5 mile loop to the Hudson River and back would be well worth the effort.  You see, there is a jewelry store on the way!  Walking clothes on, money shoved in pockets, we set out, and were just a short way from our goal of jewelry when an ENORMOUS Doberman came running at us!  Those dogs are usually chained up, but one was loose on Saturday!

Elaine saved the day, as well as our butt cheeks, which is how close this dog got.  She grabbed my arm, turned me around, and said calmly “Don’t panic, don’t run, just walk and do not look at him.”

Phew.  It worked.  I think we only ended up with saliva on our back sides.

We drove to the jewelry store, and refrained from throwing poisoned steak at Dobie.  We spent about two hours in the store.  The rock bottom prices will keep you there at least that long.  There are also fossils, rocks and some amazing wood pieces.  Don’t miss this stop, but DO drive there!
